Majestia XXIII marks the end of my band life - probably forever. Playing the saxophone has become a part and parcel of my life and even though the passion for it is no longer as strong, I just can't seem to imagine myself not touching the saxophone ever again. What's more is VJCSB; the band I have grown to show affection for even though band life last year started out rather badly. People come and go, fun and grief become memories and everytime something ends, I would take out the famous St Nicks chant: Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. In fact, it is used so regularly that it no longer had any effect on me. Transition from having too many activities to too much free time is not an easy thing to get used to. I miss a lot of people already.

First the taekwondo competition ended, marking the end of our trainings, excluding the fact that a few of us are trying to prolong our trainings a little by deciding to go for the next grading. Then Majestia ended and all that is left are memories and loads of free time for me to reminisce and get emo. Giving up something that I have been doing for 6 years straight is saddening, not to mention the nice people around me that I have come to appreciate too late and actually being part of a high-achieving band that rocked Carnegie Hall and the Esplanade! Majestia was a success, to me anyway, with some technical glitches here and there but that is expected under performance stress. I think we did the best we could, despite some nitpicking comments from people who know music. At least my friends stop complaining about the $25 after the concert which is evident of success isn't it? It was indeed a fun experience exploring the hospital-like hallways and dressing up in the beautiful dressing rooms which looked like Hollywood studios. (: The acoustics was good but I still prefer Carnegie Hall. :P At least my band life is ending at the peak.

I have to get used to having too much free time suddenly - and start mugging.
