olympics 08 spore silver medal

It's amazing how one can see the Singaporean spirit when we are all united in this common goal to cheer the Olympians on isn't it. How Singaporeans came to accept that foreign talent is the right choice. After a 48-year medal drought, we won not one medal but 3 more! XD We may have lost to the Chinese but we lost with grace. Singaporeans can be proud that the Olympians did put in their best in the close-to-impossible task to defeat the Chinese, and for being so supportive (I'd never seen anyone waving the Singapore flag so enthusiastically, now I know why those flags hanging out of the HDB flats disappear to). It is easy to see how winning in the Olympics is so much of a national pride and power play, although some sportsmen win to fulfill their own dreams more than for their country. Seeing the silver medals come into the hands of Singaporeans is a moment so glorifying isn't it!
